2019 Carignane
Mendocino County
The Trimble Vineyard, just east of Hopland, CA was planted in 1941, or 1942, depending on which member of the Trimble family you ask. The old sprawl plantings of head pruned vines are certified organic through CCOF and entirely dry farmed on well drained, loamy soils. The Mediterranean climate, provides warm days and cool nights, culminating in a later harvest that comes in just ahead of the fall frost.
Densely purple with juicy plums, cassis, blackberries forward on the nose followed by dried rose, mushroom and savory dried herbs. A rich palate with assertive structure and ripe fruit dances with energizing acidity.
