Barbera 2016
Sonoma Valley
To say this 4-acre vineyard has unique terroir would be an understatement; it sits in the volcanic caldera of the Moon Mountain AVA in Sonoma County. Planted in 2008, the west-facing front block is peppered with boulders the size of watermelons and planted entirely with head-trained, dry-farmed Barbera. In fact, we find the site so inspiring, the Edaphos label art is a sketch of one Barbera vine.
Dark purple in color with classic aromatics of cedar, leather, spice, blueberries and black cherries. The purity of acidity allows for a juicy and refreshing black fruit expression on the palate with significant structure and firm, smoky tannins.
